Blogging For Choice

Blog for Choice Day
Today, instead of ranting about something or blogging about Oscar nominations(that will come tomorrow) I have decided to do my duty and talk about one of the most revolutionary court cases of all time. Roe V. Wade.
What makes Roe V. Wade so important was the fact that is changed the world as well as legalize abortion. And even though you may not feel this to be too important, think about it.
I will admit, being a male means that I don't really have much say in the matter to some, but I feel that everyone who cares about legal rights and keeping abortion legal matters. I'm a male, but I'm a feminist. I will never get pregnant, but I do know that it shouldn't stop me from doing the right thing and being pro choice.
I am pro choice because I want women to feel safe, I want women to receive the rights they deserve and not die because they get an abortion. My grandfather, a doctor can recall women coming to his office beaten and bloody because they got an abortion. Women do not deserve that horrible treatment, everybody makes mistakes, and we should respect that.
So, it's thirty five years and look how far we've come since Roe V. Wade and I'm proud to say that women no longer have to live in fear because they got an abortion. So everyone, men, women, take the time to think how lucky we are and how advanced society has become in 35 years and together, we can stop such a horrible and unsafe future from happening again.
I know that when it comes time to vote, if there is a general election involving this matter, I know I will vote pro choice and I will remember today. How people like me have gotten their voices heard and spoke up about abortion and why it is so important. And I will remember that I was there and I made a difference.
